PR Officer

As a PR Officer, you will work closely with the senior leadership team to shape the public perception of Start it @KBC an Start it X. You will be responsible for managing media relations, crafting press releases, and developing strategies that enhance brand visibility. You will also play a pivotal role in thought leadership initiatives and work closely with the CEO to handle media opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an annual PR strategy based on the broader marcom agenda
• Organize bi-weekly PR meetings, including agendas and reports
• Maintain an activity sheet and deliver semi-annual strategic presentations
• Write, distribute, and publish approximately six press releases annually via the Prezly newsroom
• Proactively pitch stories to business media and respond to media requests
• Coordinate interviews for the CEO and other leadership figures, providing briefing documents, talking points, and background checks on journalists
• Engage in newsjacking, opportunity spotting, and monitor industry trends around the startup ecosystem
• Develop thought leadership pieces, including opinion proposals, and pitch them to media outlets
• Prepare regular PR reports, including weekly stakeholder updates and monthly activity summaries

Skills & Requirements:

• Proven experience in corporate PR, with a focus on startups and business media
• Strong copywriting skills, with the ability to craft press releases and opinion pieces from scratch
• Proactive approach to media relations, including handling press requests and pitching stories
• Experience in organizing and preparing leadership for interviews, including providing briefing documents
• Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English (both written and verbal)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the broader marketing and leadership teams
• Willingness to travel within Belgium for onsite events and meetings
