Start it @KBC signs the Green Deal Value Chains

On 15 October 2026, at the kick-off event in Brussels, Start it @KBC signed the Green Deal Waardeketens (Green Deal Value Chains), a Flemish initiative running from September 2026 to September 2029.
What is it?
The Green Deal helps Flemish SMEs map and manage the sustainability risks in their international value chains. Customers want to know where products come from and how they are made, sustainability legislation keeps evolving, and raw material scarcity puts supply under pressure. Companies that know their value chain work more efficiently, find circular and innovative solutions, and strengthen their position on international markets.
In a free, one-year trajectory, companies, governments, experts and intermediaries learn from each other and turn insight into concrete action. Participants choose a module on broad due diligence (including human rights), deforestation (EUDR) or Scope 3 emissions, and work on a real project within their own organisation.
Why we signed
At Start it @KBC, the Sustainable Development Goals are central to how we build companies. Every startup in our community supports at least one SDG, because we believe impact and growth go hand in hand. That SDG is not a label: it helps founders sharpen their mission and tell a stronger story to customers, talent and investors.
The Green Deal is a natural next step. Startups may be small, but their value chains often stretch across the world. By starting early, they can build sustainable choices into their product from day one instead of fixing them later. By joining forces with companies, governments and experts across Flanders, we want to help build an economy that is more sustainable, more resilient and ready for the future.
