How an Israeli Computer Software Scale-Up became Indispensable for the Belgian Construction Sector in less than a year

In September 2020, Start it Expand started working with an Israeli software company within the construction and infrastructure sector. The company had been in business for 10 years, but in 2020, they decided to start exploring the Benelux market and its opportunities. After several workshops and sessions together, the Start it Expand team was able to discover the needs and challenges of the scale-up, and based on those findings, match the right expertise in our network to guide the scale-up in their journey through the Benelux market. The sector expert himself has many years of experience in the construction industry and owns his own drone company, an ideal add-on to the team supporting the Israeli scale-up. Within only 2 months, the scale-up had 4 meetings with executives in the industry and signed a first paying collaboration. This first one ensured their entry ticket in the construction ecosystem, and many more executive meetings took place after this one. After one year of collaboration, the scale-up had 9 high-quality introductions and multiple contracts signed. The power of the network became clear when the software of the scale-up was put into use at one of the largest infrastructure projects in Belgium: Oosterweel in Antwerp. Within 12 months, the scale-up did not only discover the opportunities in the Benelux market but became indispensable for the Belgian construction sector.
